Baby Gapp Number 2

Yikes!!!  My last post was in October.  A part of me wanted to kind of stop blogging, but then I realized that this is really like an online scrapbook of The Gapp Life.  And since I have not made any real scrapbooks in about 7 years, it is probably worth keeping up.  It is no joke when the veteran Moms tell you that you will forget everything.  I have to refer to the blogs and facebook to try and remember key moments like Tyson's first step, first word, and the day we took away his pacifier.

So here we are in June and a LOT has changed since that last October post.  We are expecting baby number 2 due October 8th.  I would say that 98% of the time leading up to the big reveal, I totally thought it was a girl.  Mostly because this pregnancy has just been so different.
With Tyson, it was all about foods with as much flavor as possible such as pickles and Sriracha hot sauce.  However, this go round I couldn't handle hardly anything and the majority of my meals consisted of cereal (Thanks General Mills for your amazing Golden Grahams, total life saver).  I definitely had more "morning sickness", but the best part was it was all in the evenings.  Very convenient for teaching and really made me efficient in my grading.  The first year of teaching is hard for anyone, but when you know that you want to possibly throw up every night at 5:30 and be asleep by 6:30, it is crucial to have all grading and planning done ASAP.  Perhaps my advice for a first year teacher...just get knocked up.

However, as we led to the week of the big reveal, I was starting to lean toward a boy.  I was feeling very nervous about two boys since it is really little boys all around us.  And I think it was really the planning part in me trying to prepare myself for pure chaos.  I remember specifically an evening when I was tucked in bed (just after Wheel of Fortune at 6:58pm), and I was on Pinterest. I was looking at pink nurseries and started to actually cry at the thought that I would never get to dress a little babe up in pink dresses.  When just then, Ty walks in says, Hi Mama....  Farts....  And then leaves.  The tears turned into full on bawling.
When the time came and the technician asked which do I think....my final vote was Boy.  Even though, deep down I had thought girl all along.  I think more than anything I didn't want to be disappointed or God forbid - wrong.  However, just so I can remember this too, on the day of the big reveal, I was feeling quite content about two boys.  I had a dream that week that we were hanging out with our best friends, our two boys and their two boys and we just laughed at the chaos and said...Penises everywhere!  I know its very simple but after feeling like I wouldn't be connected to this baby, I woke up thinking, every little thing, is gonna be alright (Thanks Bob Marley, you always know just what to say).

And so, at the appointment, the technician did all her measurements, which by the way amazes me.  I think my favorite part is zooming in on the heart chambers and valves.  CRAZY!!!  Seriously, technology is amazing.  She then asked if we were ready (ummm....duh, of course we are), and said that she already knew and had it written on a piece of paper on the counter.  WHAT??   We were both glued to the TV like it was 4th quarter in a Bronco Game and she already knows!!!!  I looked at Ryan and we both thought...well then it HAS to be a boy (if she saw a little somethin' as she was looking around.)

She zooms in and asks, "What do you see".  We said "nothing".  She asked if we knew where we were and if we saw the legs.  Ummm, yes, of course we knew.  She asked again, "What do you see guys?"  Again, we said "Nothing".  She leans forward and looks at us and said, "So what does that mean guys??"  Holy crap!!!!  IT'S A GIRL!!!

Sleeping Baby....Sleeping Little Man

Where did this little bundle go???  I feel like some times it was just yesterday that Ty was all curled up like this and just a Tiny Mr. T.

Now, he sleeps like a little boy or even like a man....Hands behind his head as if he is doing all his life plans during his deep sleep.  He also is very particular on what toys get to sleep up by his head or down by his feet.  This night, he just had to have Mickey Mouse, Bear, and Ti-gar.

Most nights lately its been his construction hat!! (Thanks KayKay for such a great gift.)Who would have thought it would become his nightly ritual.

So Hard To Say Goodbye...To Yesterday

Thanks to this week's, Song on the Blog: BoysIIMen - Goodbye, I can now look at pictures of Ty's little and TINY clothes that he once wore, and bring on the waterworks at the same time as I reminisce. So yes...the tears were rollin when I went through all of his clothes to pass along to Ty's future BFFs. Here's some of my favorites.

Remember these:

Tyson thought it would be fun to put on some of his oldies, which now resemble a swim cap and a tight muscle shirt. He liked how they showed off his pipes.

Just Another Day....

Of Pure Cuteness. Seriously, I never thought that after 11 months (almost 12!!), I would still wake up every day, look at Ty, and think, "Oh my goodness, you are so freaking cute!!" I kind of thought it would be like when you get a puppy. You know...you love the puppy so much, can't get enough, but then one day she's just the dog in the corner, the dog eating the food off the kitchen floor, or the dog that constantly licks your son's face. I suppose some day, Tyson will become "just the dog"...maybe when he's 13, right? But either way, I am soaking it all in and loving every minute of it.

ps...and check out those legs!! Boy loves to eat ;)

Good Morning Sunshine

Since day one, every morning and after every nap I would wake Tyson by saying Good Morning Sunshine! And now it just cracks me up to walk in, expect to see the precious little baby sleeping like here:

And instead see Mr. T just playing and having a good time!

Love my growing boy!!

Cheese Ball!!

I cannot believe it. This little man is 10 months old today!! Ten Months! TEN. I know I have said this three times now, but I really can't believe it. It is one of those things that has flown by so fast, but at the same time we cannot imagine our life with out him.

Mr. T really has quite the little personality these days. This is what I call his Cheese Ball face....because, well he's a cheese ball and I'm a huge dork. Pretty good match I must say. He is now babbling all over the place but no official words yet. Although Bapa claims he said his name months ago. The most popular noun for everything is Dada...and just about at any time he is in "pointing" mode.

Ty still eats like a champ. We went through a phase after a rough night of spinach and Ham & Pineapple (don't worry, came from two seperate jars)...and after gagging a few times on that he decided he wasn't too excited about this baby food. But we are back on track! Of course he is sometimes treated like the dog and given little table scraps here and there. But don't worry, we haven't moved him to the dog run just yet.

No full on crawling yet. Instead we get a kind of Army-pirate-dead-leg-crawl. Yes, that is what I have named the maneuver and working on getting a song named after it. Either way, I am putting my money on the steps coming first. He loves his walker, pulling himself up, and will soon be getting ready for the 400 hurdles.

Hey Hey We're The Monkeys

People Say We Monkey Around. Well, just little T was a monkey. He did his first trick or treating at Bapa & Gamma's and Elaine & Ryan's. His trick was looking so freakin adorable. His treat, was a big hug! (He's trying to cut back on the sweets with that gut of his)

So Many Emotions

As you saw in the cereal post, we are finally putting up some videos. And as I also said, we are learning to edit (aka...Ryan didn't edit one of these videos and it is still really really long). But we both thought these were pretty funny.

And please note, that there were no babies harmed in any of these videos and we really are the most loving parents ever!

This one is poor Ty half asleep and half awake. (And no, there was absolutely no alcohol involved, even though some of his expressions may look familiar to late college or Stonegate beer pong nights.)

In The Summer Time

Well, I must say our little All American Family is just having a ball this summer. So much that I haven't even updated the blog in the month of July. Ok, maybe because I am still trying to balance everything. And I even added another blog on top of it all. I Play It By Year - saved for a little more of my dorky humor and venting. But I promise I will stay more on top of it from now on. Little Mr. T has got some major fans out there and we can't disappoint them.

The Tyster is just growing like crazy. And so far, between adding apple juice and full time formula now, he is just packin on the pounds. I was happy to call my friend Tori to tell her that he's finally now getting his little chub fat rolls on his legs that she so wanted to squeeze! Sad that just doesn't seem to be as appealing on us adults.
I'll get us caught up here on some of the fun times we have been having:
