The Pledge

The Olympics are constantly on our TV these days.  And it has in fact made Tyson become a better swimmer.  Just on Sunday he finally showed more courage jumping in the pool and going under water because he wanted to be Michael Phelps.  Ty can pick out Phelps, Ryan Lochte, and Missy Franklin in any picture and absolutely loves to watch every event.  Fortunately with all of the gold medals we have been talking about the national anthem, the pledge of allegiance, and who our country is.  Here he is reciting the Pledge and I must say that it is pretty darn cute.

 

True BFFs

This is Tyson and his best friend Paul.  Tyson calls him his Little Buddy.  And sometimes, he even tells people that Paul is his little brother.  It is practically true. They play like brothers.  Bicker like brothers.  And even say I Love You like brothers.  Last night they expressed all of these.  They fought over trucks, cried because they were tired, but then said I Love You to each other as they watched crack TV Mickey Mouse Club House.

Tyson seriously asks about Paul 500 million times a day (and I think Paul reciprocates the same).  He wants to go to his new house.  He wants to go to the pool with him.  He wants to drive at the track with him.  He wants to know if he is eating dinner or if he's still napping.  

I always envisioned that we would force our kids to be friends with our friend's kids.  Little did I know that they would become absolute BFFs.  I seriously believe that these two will continue to be two peas in a pod throughout childhood and beyond.  

We can only all imagine what these two will look like in high school together.  I am sure they will fight over a girl (we all hope Ellie), give each other a black eye, and probably get drunk or who knows what in our basements.  Elaine and I joke they will be like Rob and Big.  (Well...minus the fact Tyson isn't a huge black man...but you get the point.)

Either way...these two boys are pretty darn cute and I just love them both! 

It is Officially Summer

That is correct.  I am enjoying every minute of my Summer Vacation.  I have cashed in my Mother's Day Spa day, relaxed, cleaned and organized the house, did a little planning for August (shhhh don't tell the other teachers that I'm that huge dork).  But most importantly, I have spent more time with the Ty Guy. Must take trips to make is officially summer = The Pool & The Zoo.  

The best about the pool is that Ty just feel in absolute love with this bucket that day and was determined to wear it everywhere.  He walked around Target, Sports Authority, and the grocery store, telling everyone that they can call him, "Pail Head".  Not Bucket Head....he will correct you on that one.  Its Pail Head.

We went to the zoo this week with some friends and after watching the penguins for at least 15 minutes (as everyone should always plan for), I snapped this pic which is to die for.  Seriously...you all know how hard it is to get kids to all smile.  And this one is just perfect.  Thanks iPhone, for capturing the moment just at the right time!!  

And a zoo trip would not be complete without a train ride and measurement at the Polar Bear.  The day finished with Ty picking out a huge blue stuffed snake that he name "Waddle".  Love his creativity!!

I'm Smitty the Dragon

Tyson just loves telling us stories now.  My favorite part is all the voices he does.  Most of his stories are about dragons and dinosaurs, but I just love it!! 

Freeze Frame

When we all got together with my family to celebrate the big 3-0 in December, we did our own little "photo booth" complete with a plastic table cloth hung up, my trusty Canon Camera, and a box full of dress up goodies!!  Add all of that with the fun that we always have and you come up with some GREAT pictures!!

Even better....is the AMAZING video that my dearest niece, Justine, created and presented to us on on Christmas.  Check it out...she rocked it!!
